**The Sherwood Music Department does not charge course fees or instrument rental fees for any of its ensembles or general music classes! Everything we do is made possible by your generous support.**


​Sheet music, concert attire, instruments and instrument repair, classroom supplies, concert venue rentals, bus transportation for students, and fees for participation in choral and instrumental adjudications, can all drain the limited budget that the county and school provide to our music department. For our non-performing classes, we maintain class sets of guitars, digital pianos, a computer lab and recording studio for electronic music, software subscriptions, and college-level materials for AP Music Theory. On top of daily curricular needs, the boosters fund provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students, by bringing world-class musicians to Sherwood for clinics and workshops, and by offering need-based scholarships for educational travel opportunities, such as last year's Jazz Band and Jazz Choir trip to NYC, and the Chamber Singers' performance tour of Prague and Vienna.


We all want to provide our children with the best possible music education and continue in the proud tradition of excellent music at Sherwood High School. Due to our limited budget, we are in continuous need of donations, and ask that you please consider contributing to the Patron program. Contributions of any size are appreciated, and are tax-deductible! You can designate your donation to support the music department, or to support the "Bill Evans Excellence in Music Award" scholarship fund (see below for more info). We would also appreciate any volunteers to assist us in raising corporate sponsorships and community awareness.

Our performing groups include Symphonic Band and Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Warrior Pep Band, Chamber Singers, Show Choir, Barbershop, Sweet Adelines, and more. All perform regularly for the entire Olney community, and most concerts are free of charge.
